Help Woodlawn Nature Center

We are looking for great committee members to help with communication, fundraising, education and programming, etc. Some of these can be done during your time available. As a largely volunteer organization, we depend on help from dedicated professionals like you as we shovel, groom trails, lead hikes, enter activities in online calendars, write press releases and newsletters, and provide outreach environmental education activities in the community. This could be you, too! Other opportunities include:

–help photograph our collection so we have good quality photographs to use for social media, brochures, website, and other communication.

–we are collecting “loose parts”—natural items for nature play, such as sunflower heads, buckeyes, special rocks, wood scraps for building, tree cookies (have a chainsaw?), special pinecones, etc. We are also long

–assist with our monthly family nature club, which is typically held on the fourth Saturday of the month at 3:30 pm.

–have woodworking skills? We’d love some help to develop our natural play area more fully. Contact us for a plan. Here are some ideas:

–garden? We are developing a garden area this spring and could use extra hands throughout the growing season.

–have a great artistic flair? We are sprucing up our exhibits this year and could use your fine eye! Also, we are working specifically with an extensive nest, bird, and egg collection if you’d like to make this more accessible to the public. Rocks and fossils your thing? We have plenty of them that could be curated and displayed better.
